NOT A RERUN
Artemis isn't a nostalgia project. Where Apollo carried two astronauts to the surface for days at a time, Artemis is building toward sustained operations — longer stays, a lunar space station, and infrastructure meant to outlast any single mission.
THE SOUTH POLE PRIZE
Apollo landed near the lunar equator. Artemis is aiming at the south pole, where permanently shadowed craters hold water ice.
Water means drinking supplies, breathable oxygen, and rocket propellant — the raw materials of staying.
ARTEMIS I PROVED THE HARDWARE
In late 2022, the uncrewed Artemis I mission sent an Orion spacecraft around the Moon and back, flying farther from Earth than any spacecraft built for humans had ever gone.
It validated the rocket, the capsule, and the heat shield that every crewed flight after it depends on.
THE MOON AS A PROVING GROUND
Every system Artemis matures — life support, surface operations, deep-space navigation — is a rehearsal for the harder trip.
The Moon is three days away. Mars is closer to three hundred. Artemis is how you train for that.
